Back in 2003 I volunteered at the Hawaiian Volcanoes Observatory in Hawaii (hey, someone has to go to these places…). I spent 3 months producing a flash multimedia set of content on Predicting Volcanic Eruptions

My colleague at the Open University, Tom Argles recently found it and has pointed geology students (on S209). For it still to be out there on the USGS site and still be useful is lovely after all these years, its a bit like bumping into an old friend and finding you still have tons to say to each other…
Its got some really nice images in and I think Tom especially liked the “Mt St Helens” prediction section which walks you through real data which you use to try and predict in a realistic prediction scenario.
